I know a lot of the members and have hunted with a good number of them. Im 28 and live in South Tx. I have been hog hunting for about 5 years. I dont have the best but I think I can load up what I have and go catch hogs I dont think anyone is ever an "expert" or the "best" ..they day you stop learning is the day you die. Im just in this to have fun and catch some hogs.

I'm Chad Wall. 26 yrs old, live in SE Georgia. I grew up with my dad having catahoulas till I was around 8 or 10. We moved about 6 or 7 yrs ago to place that once again had hogs and we started back hunting with other people and there dogs. Started putting my own pack together about 2 yrs ago. I prefer catahoula but have some cross breed dogs as well. I really enjoy trying to make dogs better and working with young dogs trying to get them to where I think they need to be. I am a firm beliver in that you will raise and train your best dog, you will never buy your perfect dog!! That's what I'm working towards, the perfect dog, and that will always be a never ending challenge.
I enjoy the boards when they serve there intended purpose of sharing information and stories as well as good discussions about dogs and breeding.

Well, I been super buzzzzzy getting skunked, went out 4 nights and came out empty handed, yet Il say we had a blast, some of the dogs worked ther butts off. Any way I am 36 years old live in Central east Florida and been at it for maybe 1 year or so as Buzzer knows all I want is to learn, I know very little and am just in hog doggen school basically so these class rooms (boards) are always good, my prefrence in dogs r Dogos but I dont believe they r god dogs, they also need to be worked, I have seen some mighty nice Catahoulas also. Honestly I am in it for the dogs I just love to see the excitment in them how hard they work and how much they love it, In any event I will very much apriciate any help yall can give this newbie, (LOL) Kindly, Oly

I'm one of the oldest people on here and I'm still learning. Keep this informative and clean and it will stay around for a long time. I strted training Obediance and Attack dogs back in 1965. I then got into blood trail and when we started having a few hogs started raising Catahoulas. I moved to Texas in June of 1998 and with the help of God have found a place that I want to stay for the rest of my days, Columbus, Texas. I have hunt with a lot of you on here and hope to be able to do some hunting with more before I get too old. I retired in 1996 and do raise a few dogs and work some for sale to help pay feed bills. 911 and the war seems to be having an effect on my income and might have to go back to work. Wish I could make a living hog hunting. You young people help protect you right to hunt with dogs because when it's over it want come back. Wish you all the best and God Bless

Hi! My name is Krystal and I hunt with Ugly Dogs!
I am addicted to hunting my dogs, I love to watch them work,(when they do good). My animals are part of my family and I have a different approach then alot of people, but it is alot that I am in it to hunt/work dogs, and not about how many or how big the hogs I catch are, not that I don't get excited about the big bad ones. It is also my belief that ther is NO right or wrong way to hunt. It is all about personal preference. If you are catching hogs, enjoy your dogs, and are an upstanding citizen, Then I think you are much better off than most people. If you are happy with what you are doing them you are blessed. I also learn alot from reading what other people have to say and from my dogs being in the woods. If we can all contribute experiences and tips in a positive manner i think this will be a wonderful board and contribution to hog hunting.

My name is Ron and I live south east of San Antonio and have only been hunting a short while, but have learned alot, just from listening to those who have been at it alot longer than me. I hunt mostly around the Komensky Texas area, but have hunted from Oklahoma to Corpus. I have had the preivledge of hunting and meeting many new people and friends. I only have a few dogs, but love to hunt behind them, whether they are the best or not. An I personally believe there is only one way to hunt....if it aint fun and productive, they why would you do it (whatever method that may be). Good luck catchin them pigs, and hope to meet any of you that I have not already met.

Kevin O'Neal from Rockwall Texas, 27 years old, been hog hunting for about 12 years with every rifle, pistol, bow and muzzleloader I have. About a year and a half ago I got some started dogs, shortly after that I decided that wasn't going to work so I set out to try my luck with some pups. I got two young BMC's from JD down South and a Dogo from North Texas and went from there. I don't catch every hog in the woods but we're getting there. LOL!

Hi everyone! Amy Burnard - I'm 35 years old from Rosevile, Michigan. I come from a hunting family up here but stopped deer hunting when I was younger. I bought a Dogo Argentino about 2 years ago and have been amazed and fascinated with the breed ever since. I got on boards, started talking and learning from a lot of the members here and on other boards.
I am now completely fascinated with hog hunting with dogs. I am planning to get down south this summer and hopefully get to do some hog hunting while I'm there with a couple of the nicest people ever. I would have never gotten to know them if I hadn't have gotten a Dogo and if they hadn't of taken so much of their time to answer all my stupid questions.
The thing that amazes me most about hog hunting is the number of great people I've gotten to know since I started bugging everyone with questions. I swear the nicest group of people anyone could ever meet are all hog hunters. Thanks Gus for this board and I look forward to learing so much more about hog hunting, Dogos, Catahoulas, bird dogs, etc., etc., etc.

Well my name is Cathy and we live in southwestern Oklahoma, my husband Randy and I hunt when time permits which isn't as much as we would like. We have 8 dogos, 2 bmc's two parker curs, and a bulldog cross, and last but not least two chihihuha's. We hunt with four of the dogos and the bmc's and parker curs and bulldog cross and the others are just pets. We have hunted with Kevin O. at his place and got the opportunity to meet his Boomer and his other dogs, he is very generous to invite us to hunt with him, and hope to return the invite. Have been hunting for about 4 years and I got hooked after the first time. Watching the dogs work and seeing the danger they deal with and the courage they posses makes me admire them and their love for it. Have not met everyone personally, but have learned to think of them as friends, I have talked and emailed with Amy, and Oly, and have met Buzzer and of course Kevin O. I have witnessed the rookies turn into hunters and the readers turn into be very interested in hunting and helping to preserve that for us hunters. I agree with Amy they are the nicest bunch to know and have learned alot and know that they are the type who will stand beside you to help perserve the hunting rights. As far as age.........well let's just let that one go....... ;D but I learn stuff from these boards and this one certianly looks like it can take care of alot of areas and different types of hunting. Buzzer , you have done a good job with this, and with EJ to help it can go a long ways. I am partial to dogos and bmc's. But if the dogs do what you want and hunt the way you want and you enjoy it, that is all that matters. So maybe we can get some hunting stories and pictures going here.

Hey Cathy, thanks for the kind words. Kevin and I are thinking about coming up Saturday evening to get my truck, it's been in the shop for a while. Depending on where we meet my dad to pick it up we'll probably try to swing by the ranch to run the dogs. Not sure how your schedule looks but ya'll are more than welcome to join us. I'll call ya on Saturday to try and set someting up.
Talk to ya later, Kevin O.

Thanks, Kevin O.
