Hi, I was going to post something that Cathy would have to moderate - just for practice ;D - but then I thought of an actual question How many types of Black Mouth Curs are there. I've only heard of the yellow BMC - are there others? Amy B

We just had a litter born last night 5 males and 6 females. Nice balanced litter. As far as different types there are quite a few, mountain curs, and what I call just BMC's and then we have a couple of Parker Curs. But I'm sure folks out there know of more varieties of them. If I can I will take pictures of the proud mom and babies and put them here. Not trying to sell them but just bragging on our future hog dog pack.

I've heard that some people call these saddlebacks, because of the darker coat. He caught that wild shoat, a split second before it tore my leg off, but luckily I was able to keep my composser and capture some of this never before seen footage of what hog hunters like to call "the charge". LOL Chris

As far as the differeant breeds of B.M.C. 's goes there is a long list of ones that are out there , U got the American Black Mouth , Southern Black Mouth, Foundation Black Mouth, Mountain Curr, Tennesee Brindle Curr, Stephens Curr, Treeing Cur, Leopard Cur, then u got the kemmer curs and the differeant strains of them. Then U got the main Yeller Black mouth cur, and I am sure there is more those are just the ones I know of or have seen.

Heres a pic of a foundation yellow yote cur I found this morning while hunt'n the corn feilds with my buddy Waylon. I was standing in between a corn feild and a drainage ditch while Waylon and his dad walked the dogs in around the other side. I looked over to my right and not ten feet away two young coyote pups walked out from the corn and stopped about half way between it and the ditch. I got close to the corn and tryed to push them toward the ditch so they wouldn't have anywhere to go, but one of them caught on to what I was trying to do and headed back into the corn. This little guy didn't. Chris

EJ,
Remember when we were talking about making that cross, well I figured you'd been busy so I took the liberty of getting the first on the breeding stock. ;D
Waylons dad took him. If he can get him to eat and get that mange taken care of, he aught to atleast be worth trying. Lord knows hes got the hunt breed into him. He was in real good shape for a mangey coyote pup. He was nice and fat and real calm until you put him on the ground. lol Then he was hell on wheels trying to get back to momma.

Holly Cow Chris, that's awesome. I've always wanted a coyote. LOL! I was discussing that a while back, I've heard of dingo crosses, is he still alive? So he didn't even try to bite you when you caught him? That's crazy, I'd give him some Taktic or Tactik (sp?) and Ivomec for the mange. That's pretty neat keep us updated.

Hey Kevin how you been? I talked to my buddy last night and he said it seems to be doing ok so far. His dad has him at his house. I wasn't to sure what the old lady would say if I brought another dog home, much less a coyote pup. LOL Waylon said his dad has been putting out a bowl of milk for him everyday and he wont eat while hes around but he does seem to be eating. He is still real young but when I picked him up he crapped lol and it seemed to be solid so it looked like hes been eating solid foods. He never tryed to bite me. I must have carried him around for an hour or so before we got the dogs rounded up and got back to the truck. He was real calm when I was holding him but got real skittish when I put him in the back of the truck. I dont thinks he more than a couple of weeks old, so he might still be a little to young for any wormers or Ivomec. But if he does make it will definantly have to take care of that mange. Hes a fat little guy so hopefully he'll make it. ;D Chris
